  • Profile information (bio, skills, tools and subscriptions, strengths, profile photo)
  • Financial information (bank account details processed via Dwolla/Stripe Connect — we do not store full bank account numbers)
  • Project content (files, messages, tasks, comments)
  • Revenue information (data from connected third-party platforms via API)

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data (pages visited, features used, timestamps, session duration)
  • Device information (IP address, browser type, OS, device type)
  • Cookies and similar technologies (session maintenance, preferences)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform
  • Process revenue calculations and payouts
  • Verify revenue through connected APIs
  • Facilitate team formation by displaying public profiles
  • Send notifications about project activity and payments
  • Enforce our Terms of Service
  • Comply with legal obligations including tax reporting
  • Detect and prevent fraud

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 Public Profile Information

Your username, avatar, bio, skills, subscriptions, strengths, and rating are visible to other users. Your real name and email are never displayed to other users.

3.2 Project Team Members

Your profile and project contributions are visible to other members of projects you join.

3.3 Service Providers

We share information with Clerk (authentication), Stripe/Dwolla (payments), Supabase (database), Cloudflare (file storage), Vercel/Render (hosting), and Resend (email). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.

3.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CC, our users, or the public.

3.5 No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS, secure authentication via Clerk, Row Level Security on our database, rate limiting, and PCI-compliant payment processing. No method is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information while your account is active. Upon deletion, personal data is anonymized within 60 days. Certain information may be retained for legal compliance. Anonymized project contributions may be retained for project integrity.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct your information
  • Request account deletion (subject to Terms of Service)
  • Request data portability
  • Disconnect third-party APIs
  • Manage communication preferences

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those services.

10. International Users

The Platform is operated from the United States. By using the Platform, you consent to data transfer to the US.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Material changes will be communicated at least 30 days before taking effect.
